Born in the Philippines, Cua has lived in the United States since the age of 18. Although she is an American citizen who calls Chicago her home, Cua is an avid worldwide traveler. Her adventures have given her the opportunity to photograph and then later paint or sketch scenes from Asia, North America, South Africa, Mexico, and Israel. Spending two years in Europe, primarily Amsterdam, Cua's European collection includes scenes of Austria, Belgium, Croatia, England, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Russia, Scotland, Slovenia, Spain and Switzerland. She now returns to Europe twice a year to paint and visit her new European friends.
Cua's work can be found in private collections and corporations in the USA, Europe and Asia. She has exhibited at the Merchandise Mart and the Federal Reserve Bank in Chicago and in Evanston at the Cafe Ambrosia and the Unicorn Cafe, and currently in Wilmette at Link's Sweet Bean.

Design Tip

Small space living often means no dining room, but that doesn't mean you can't host a fabulous dinner right inside the kitchen. It's easy to set up for an intimate gathering at a counter. Placing a wonderful "centerpiece" at the head of the counter, and using accessories like cloth napkins, textured placemats, and coordinating dinnerware will set the stage for for a memorable evening.
Place a couple of counter-height stools (these can be kept in a closet when not in use) on the opposite side of the counter where you and other hosts will sit. From here you will be able to easily serve your guests while also creating a parallel conversation spcae. Voila, you now have a dining room!!

Luxury Custom Bed Linens

Dating back five generations to 1852, the Reed family name is synonymous with superior linens for the home. The tradition of excellence and knowledge has been the touchstone of Reed Family Linens. From the beginnings as a cottage industry in the English countryside to the first mill, innovation and quality workmanship have been the main focus.
Over the years Mark and Karen Reed have generated international acclaim with products available in Europe, South Africa, Australia and the United States. Today, Reed Family Linens continues it's legacy with the understanding and experience necessary to create and produce the ultimate in quality bed and bath linens. Their attention to design and detail is immediately recognized in the unique products they offer, such as handcrafted embroidery and 100% Egyptian cotton with a 400 thread count.
Valentine was born in 1979 and since then it has been located in the northern outskirts of Milan, an area that in the past has represented the propulsive heart of the development of the textile business in Italy.
Valentine has inherited this sense of tradition in its collection of luxury bed , bath and table linens but always keeping an eye on the most recent innovations in raw materials (fabric and yarns) and technology.
These two topics, tradition and technology combined together to obtain a quality product, but always new and sensible to the latest fashion tendencies coming from all over the world.
Lakeside Interiors is now offering these selections of bed linens. Come see us today at 1111 Central Avenue in Wilmette and see the options of over 70 colors and designs to custom fit your bed. As Fern always states...."Great design is in the details".....this should especially be true in the place sleep!!

Hi,
Typically the closing of our monthly newsletter is written by Fern, however I am going to write this one. I am leaving Lakeside Interiors on August 30th to pursue life in New York. I want to thank everyone I have encountered during my tenure here. I have enjoyed my time at Lakeside Interiors. I would like to thank Karen and Megan for helping me do my job better. I especially want to thank Fern for the oppurtunity and the memories I will take with me.
I will always remember my time in the Chicago area, especially Wilmette, very fondly.
Thank you,
Nick Graham
